先日、材料の視察に行ってきました。
最近は設計の際に選定する素材への関心が非常に強く、
実際に自分の目で見て選ぶようにしています。
今回は岐阜県多治見市にある国代耐火工業所へ。
美濃地方の良質な粘土で、酸素をコントロールした還元焼成で作られています。
窯に入る前は同じようなタイル・レンガも、焼き上がると一つ一つ色が異なり個性が溢れています。
焼物特有の色むらが集合した時の空間を想像するとワクワクしますね。
工場見学で出会ったレンガは廃材を再利用したレンガたちです。現在進めているプロジェクトで使用する予定です！

The other day, I went to inspect the materials.
Recently, there has been a strong interest in the materials selected during design. I try to choose by actually looking at it with my own eyes.
This time we went to Kunishiro Refractory Industry in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture. It is made from high-quality clay from the Mino region through reduction firing with controlled oxygen. Tiles and bricks may look similar before they go into the kiln, but once they are fired, each piece has a different color and is full of individuality.It's exciting to imagine the space created when the color irregularities unique to pottery come together.
The bricks I encountered during the factory tour were made from recycled waste materials. I plan to use it in a project I'm currently working on!
